Lucy and I really enjoyed last weekend.
The Explorer Ball broke (Lucy being in it),
and I had a 'Matrix-like' jump from the couch,
to approx. 3 meters (3 yards) ...
Where Lucy was sitting very still ... (waiting?),
while being as flat as possible to the ground ...
" I jumped in slow motion, streched out my arms,
gently picked up Lucy,
while doing a flip-flop backwards,
via wall and ceiling ... back to the couch... " - Mathijs
The usual stuff right, I know you do it all the time too !
" Lucy didn't mind me picking her up,
and saving her from this ackward situation ! - Mathijs
After watching some TV, listening to music,
dancing and Lucy's Touchdowns (regulars know what those are),
Lucy retired to her castle...
Time for doing the dishes and other washing up ...

Yesterday, Lucy & I celebrated our 100 day aniversary :-)
Today, while Lucy was sleeping,
I compiled Lucy's latest:

The more vertical the above line is,
the more distance Lucy ran in her treadmill.

Upgrading from Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 does have so it's joys as well as drawbacks:
Unfortunately not all webcams are supported...
We did lose 5 webcams while upgrading from Windows XP to Vista,
we also lost another webcam while upgrading to Windows 7 ...
" We are also experiencing the joy of Windows Update ...

Somehow Lucy knows...

These last couple of weeks I've been spending time on
upgrading the HamsterTracker™-Server
to (my Official & LEGAL copy of ) Windows 7 Ultimate !
This weekend I had a breakthrough ... finally...
So when Lucy was on the couch, we discussed this:
" Dude, you changed ... WHAT ??? " - Lucy
" I've got to see that for myself ... " - Lucy
" That's some awesome setup you've got there Dude ... " - Lucy
I then explained; that it was all about the software ...
As of this weekend, the HamsterTracker™-Server is running on Windows 7 Ultimate !
( This is the first blog post made from this platform ! )
" All Homebrew-software is up and running...
Even the HamsterTracker™-Webcam Server is running it's webcams
... which is not shown in this screen-shot... " - Mathijs
" Wait, Dude ... I wanna see this for myself ... " - Lucy
" Those Windows-7 pixels are shinier, right ???
...
Can you Google: 'Pine-Seed', for me right now ... please ? " - Lucy

Lucy4.0 has stacked up a huge pile of food,
on her way up to her 'Meditation-Room' ...
" It's a HUGE climb, all the way up ... " - Mathijs

" This is the second 'S'-curve going up ...
Which is EASY for hamsters ... " - Mathijs
" Almost Meditating, Dude ! " - Lucy
Then came a few moments of meditation
After which Lucy went her way back ...

Lucy went on doing her business after less than 2.4 minutes!

Lucy4.0 isn't much of a 'Lucy Touchdown'-player.
( A Lucy Touchdown is scored by Lucy by climbing up the back of the couch. )

We enjoy each others company while watching some TV...

Remember that I offered Lucy a new treat?
Here's the follow up on that:

When doing so, Lucy climbed into her balcony, to observe.
So I offered her another treat, to break the ice:
" Nice ... Dide ... " - Lucy
" You'll probably expect ME to clean up the MESS you made downstairs, right Dude ? " - Lucy
" Somehow I always have to clean up after the Dude ... " - Lucy
" Woh ... wait a minute ... " - Lucy
Lucy DID find it pretty quickly:
" Thank you, Dude ... this is really nice ! " - Lucy

I try to develop some certainty in my relationship with my hamster.
So every time Lucy returns to her quarters,
after spending some time, soaking up Explorer Ball as well as Couch, experiences...
I give her a treat upon returning 'HOME' ... ( Like I did, TODAY )
Sometimes the experience is to experience the 'Twists & Turns',
which are there, some days:
" Sniff ... " - Lucy

" Got it, Dude !!! " - Lucy

Textbook style ... ( Is what you [can] call it ... )

Lucy did achieve her 200Km milestone last friday morning,
Lucy being the fastest hamster I've known,
Once a week, Lucy and I discuss all the stuff that goes on at HamsterTracker™.
So this week I took special notice of Lucy's concerns:
" Dude ... My concerns are about the Hamster Food that you've hoarded ...
This is not much left there right? " - Lucy
Lucy was right ...
So on Saturday ... I did some shopping
" Food, drops, pillow-treats ... I've got 'm all ! " - Mathijs
" I even got a (very expensive) 'candy bar' for Lucy ... " - Mathijs
Today I saw Lucy doing this:
" * GIGGLE * ... Works Every Time ! ... * GIGGLE * " - Lucy

Lucy has so her ways with me...
" Hi Dude ...
I am totally so in a Pine-Seed MOOD ... " - Lucy
She caught me by surprise ...
So when thinking about how to answer,
Lucy persisted:
" I AM SERIOUS, DUDE ! " - Lucy
Who can resist ???
" Dude, this Pine-Seed looks different ... " - Lucy
" I dunno 'bout it ... you see ? " - Lucy
" Maybe I should run this feeling off ... " - Lucy
I did keep my cooool-ness ... and (simply) waited ...
" Ok ...
This is a GREAT Pine-Seed Dude ... " - Lucy
This got me thinking :
" When a hamster looks at you like THAT ( top photograph ),
who CAN resist ? " - Mathijs

Lucy's living quarters desperately needed an (urgent)
cleanup..
" I've got the main stuff ready:
Clean Bathroom,
Fresh Water,
Filled Food Bowl,
Pillow Treat ... ( etc. ) " - Mathijs
" I've done some 'Hamster-Cage-Lego'
to get the architecture of the Meditation-Room just right ... " - Mathijs
" Here the 'new' (cleaned) bedroom is installed ... " - Mathijs
" A full blown overview ... " - HamsterTracker™-Full Blown Overview Dept.
During this monster exercise, Lucy was explorin' in her Explorer-Ball.
Once she returned, she immediately had to do the following:
" Wow, Dude ... it echo's in here ... " - Lucy
" Climbing up ... and up ... this is the first 'S'-curve up ... " - HamsterTracker™-Observation Dept.
" I am almost there ... Dude ... " - Lucy
" Lucy did discover her 'Meditation-Room' !
Silence was all there was left ... " - Lucy
I suppose the new (Meditation-)room
was the reason for Lucy not to run that much last night ! :-)

It's always fun to observe your little pet,
especially when all new & fresh treats are there,
for Lucy to pouch :
" This is niiiiice, Dude ! " - Lucy
Then Lucy discovered her filled food bowl :
" Pffiss isss alsooo nice, Dude ! " - Lucy
" Note that Lucy's right pouch is filling up ... " - Mathijs
So I ceased the moment...
to something EVERY hamster likes,
that's MY experience at least :
" Hamsters, somehow are very tolerant on pats on the back when pouchin' " - Mathijs
" Great cuddle, Dude ... But please ...
I AM busy ... " - Lucy

One of the fun things of taking care of a pet,
would be simply observing
Here's Lucy 'attacking' her Kracker-treat:

... Nibble sounds ...

This must be one of the MOST SILENT posts ever ... :)

For some reason the HamsterTracker™-Cleaning Dept. is again unavailable.
Something about a Reunion amongst other Cage Cleaning Departments worldwide.
So I had the joy of doing it myself ... ( again )...
" All treats gathered, and the (spare) Bedroom is almost ready
(it just needs some Dukt-tape to secure). " - Mathijs
When Lucy was running in her Explorer-Ball,
I went on with the cleaning business:
" As you can see, Lucy's main living quarters, do need a clean ! " - Mathijs
" Out with the OLD ... " - Mathijs
" In with the NEW ! " - Mathijs
" Bedroom, re-attachted ... " - Mathijs
" Now it's ready for the Fluffy Princess! " - Mathijs
Lucy started pouching at the moment of re-entry!
After stuffing her right pouch to the maximum,
she had a look 'upstairs'. After a wash she came downstairs again:
" It all smells do nice, Dude ... ! " - Lucy
" Wait a minute ... there's more stuff to pouch here ... " - Lucy
It took Lucy an approximately (mere) 20 minutes to completely knaw her cracker (totally) bare...
As it seems, the HamsterTracker™-Timing Dept. is on holiday too !

Lucy's (loving) personality is starting to show.
Observations like the one below,
do make us enjoy (and think about it ... :-)
" Lucy clogged her entrance to her bedroom ... " - Mathijs

Some how, Lucy noticed my observations:
" Wait a minute here ... " - Lucy
" Door is still in the LOCKED position ... " - Lucy
Then Lucy retired to her 'Domed-space',
which is between her front door and her bedroom:
" Why is the HamsterTracker™-Sanitation Dept. lookin' so serious, Dude ? " - Lucy
" You got me there, dear Lucy! ... :-) " - Mathijs
The HamsterTracker™-Sanitation Dept. left the building, just now (sadly for reasons unknown),
so I guess it's all up to me ... (again) ...

I've been using the tea-towel these last couple of days,
for Lucy to have some fun with.
I enjoy observing her handling this; for you to witness, this is our following report:
" What's with this 'mountain', Dude ??? " - Lucy
" I love hiking ... AND I did find a nice trail ... " - Lucy
" What to do next ... " - Lucy
Lucy disappeared for a while ...
I waited, holding my camera, for Lucy to appear again:
" Ahh, there you are, Dude ... " - Lucy
" There WAS an entrance here somewhere ... " - Lucy
" I still can't find the entrance, Dude ... " - Lucy
" I guess I will come over to you then ... " - Lucy
Which Lucy DID! :-)
She also loves to explore the clothes I am wearing;
climbing all over, while getting an occasional 'pat on the back'. :-)
