I did put Lucy up with a lot of work yesterday.
Her cage and bedroom did get a proper cleaning,
a cleaning in which Lucy does need to collect her (easily find-able bedding) all herself.

Not only did Lucy actually do her stuff,
she also did it Thoroughly; shredding her bedding all herself.

This weekend I enjoyed a 'Cook off' for 20 people,
trying to out-cook my other Chef contender in my favorite pub.

Unfortunately, my ovendish I didn't serve it at the right temperature ( way too cold ).

The 'Lucy Not Running'-Mystery
Last Saturday night Lucy ran a mere 0.19 meters in her treadmill.
This is what Lucy does sometimes...


So on Sunday morning (10 am) I rechecked to see if Lucy had
recovered from her lazyness; another mere 1.27 meters.

I then found the problem

So I called Lucy ...


But she was not in a talkative mood :

The Treadmill was completely jammed.
Not only was her foodbowl in a place it shouldn't be,
Lucy moved quite some A LOT of bedding
from the front to the back of her cage.
(That also obstructed Lucy's treadmill).


Even Lucy's Pink Knaw-Stone was crammed under the treadmill.

At 10:47 am I did a 0.22 meter test, to see if all was working. It Did :)

Suddenly Lucy Re-Appeared Again :

After all this, Lucy ran another 180.01 meters (between 21:30 and 0:00) yesterday. !!!

Although Lucy seems fine: she ran a solid 428.50 meters last night and drank 8 ml. of water today,
( these figures are healthy figures :)
We think a little health food can not hurt...


So the HamsterTracker™-Research Dept. did their thing on learning more on Cranberries:

Amazing to notice that the Dutch page mentions the following:


Here's my rough translation:


... Cranberries contain besides Vitamine C, 'proanthocyanidinen' as well as 'epicatechine'
(both Dutch words I can't translate ).
These substances work for the bladder-inside(s), preventing bacteria from clinging on the bladder...

... Therefore Cranberries seem to be effective to relief bladder infection.
It can also help on stomach-troubles as well as preventing tooth-plaque ...

Although this all has not been medically proven.


We are talking humans here on Wiki... but we guess it applies to hamsters too ...

Lucy did run (almost) 200 meters last night as well as drinking her average 6 ml. of water.
She also woke up, when I entered the living room, to collect her daily treat this morning.


Being curious, I detached Lucy's bedroom and put it on the couch just now.


It didn't take long (2 Pine-Seeds) for Lucy to get out of her bedroom.
I asked her how she was feeling ...

I needed more than words ...

So I waited for Lucy to try to attempt a 'Lucy Touchdown'.
(That's when she climbs up the back of the couch).

That didn't take long ...

Fortunately, I've been training Lucy; whenever she does this
and I 'catch' her ... I pick her up and hold her on her back for a few seconds.

This time I kept my camera ready,
making the most of those few seconds;
allowing the HamsterTracker™-Observation Dept. a second look without disturbing Lucy...

Fortunatly a clean bottom !

It seems to me that Lucy's allright !
I guess that if this incident happend on Lucy's toilet,
I would have NEVER noticed...
Don't worry we're keeping a close eye on Lucy !

Worried Times at HamsterTracker™
This (not for the faint-hearted) blog-item started two days ago.


After having some fun with Lucy; pouchin' her with Pine-Seeds as well as Walnut.
Lucy appeared to want to get out of her cage...


We do aim to please here at HamsterTracker™ so my right hand offered little assistance
on getting out.


I did notice a bit of a change in behaviour by Lucy...
She didn't go to the bathroom before she ventured out.


It was almost like she was ashamed...
Yes, my hand was urinated all over ! Those things can happen ! Right ?


Then came the scary part:

When I checked my hand... there was blood ...

Having experienced this before with Lucy2.0, at the Vet,
it scared us a bit.


After this 'incident' Lucy did have major Couch-fun !
She crawled behind me, over me and attempted to score 8+ 'Lucy Touchdowns'.
( She scores one on every attempt on climbing up on the couch. )


Pretty lively she is !!!

So we put up the 'Close-up-Monitor'


As it seems, Lucy is doing pretty well !
She drinks enough H2O, although she doesn't run much in her treadmill today, or yesterday.
