After having way too much water and pineseeds this week,
after some heavy party-in' (3 years online),
Lucy still managed to do some treadmill time.
Thereby crossing the

milestone!

[ 100 miles = 160,934.4 kilometers,]

This inspired my dear friend Jose from Puerto Rico,
to do some HamsterTracker™-creativity.

We all know Jose from (the no longer online website: HamsterfanSite.com),
caretaker of his 11 (!) hamsters, which had Lucy (2.0) as their godmother.

Here Jose shows us how much Lucy ran:

My hamster Lucy (3.0) ran the same distance as Puerto Rico is wide.

Therefore even more celebrations at the HamsterTracker™-office tonight!

we sat on the couch, for some gentle training,

Note the dips in the graph, on the days above mentioned.

(ignore the last day dip, that's what she ran this morning;
she still has untill 0:00 hours to add some time):

The more vertical the above line is,
the more distance Lucy ran in her treadmill.

Note the very irregular peak on day 34,
that's why I changed the nozzle of Lucy's water bottle.

Because the wood-shavings where also wet on the day I made that measurement,
( I must mention that I don't know what Lucy did with it,)
I suspected the nozzle being faulty.

Because this has not happened again I think I was right about this.

After yesterday's (see below) visit by the cute little bird,

I started composing an stern email to my current registrar,
asking why it's being sooo unresponsive...

When I noticed a familiar squeeee-ckin' sound from my opened back door;

VIP-Visit at HamsterTracker™

Yesterday I saw a squirrel for the first time, in my front yard.
It checked out the yard, and walked all the way up to the window,
from which I was observin'.

Pretty neat isn't it?

Today it has gotten even better;
while thinking of the squirrel,
I noticed a squeeee-ckin' sound from my opened back door;

After some observin' I took out the camera to
photograph this Very Special Guest;

An AWESOME gift for HamsterTracker™

Last week, was the most difficult week I have ever experienced.
The ISP transition was getting the better of me a bit.
Fearing off-line time of this website; didn't really make me feel all that well.

Then the HamsterTracker™-mail department received an awesome mail,
stating a gift, given by an previously unknown anonymous HamsterTracker™-supporter;
(this person is now known at the HamsterTracker™-office),

Anonymous 'II' donated a TWO year PRO account of the photosharing site flickr™ !

AWESOME!
NOW, THAT'S A GREAT MOOD CHANGE EXPERIENCE ;-)

This gift allows HamsterTracker™ to post the ORIGINAL copies of Lucy photographs.
And, as being a PRO,
this will allow You to download these photographs in original format too!

Yesterday's photoshoot is uploaded at flickr™
adding the photo's I didn't publish yesterday, like this one:

My hamster Lucy gettin' a piece of wallnut.
" Publish this on flickr™, DUDE! " - Lucy

Check out the 'Trainin' Lucy' photoshoot of Lucy on flickr™

HamsterTracker™-THANK YOU's and SHOUTS to Anonymous II

When I emailed to thank for this gift,
explaining that HamsterTracker™ was overwhelmed by this kind of generousity,
we got a response that made this gift even more precious;

" It is a very small amount of money,
and I enjoy HamsterTracker much more than many movies that I pay $9 to go to.
I'm trying to give back.
" - Anonymous II

GULP!

We can't thank you enough Anonymous II !!!

... we are speechless here ...

therefore I thought it would be nice for Lucy to have some extra training,
and get to know (and TRUST) me a little bit more.

Lucy's water-bottle

I recently got a new water-bottle for Lucy,
because the one I am using, I've been using like forever.
After I got the new bottle I noticed that,

it is way more clear than the one I currently use,
AND it (unfortunately) has a concave bottom.

Cleaning, Lucy's waterbottle.
" We are scared to use chemicals to clean the inside of this bottle.
Although it gets cleaned every refill,
there seems to be some greenish glow from the inside.
" - HamsterTracker™-Sanitation Dept.

So we gathered some screws, nuts, and bolds, from the Electronics box.
This stuff is rust-free,
and after a rinse, clean enough.

We used this as an abrasive in the Ol' Waterbottle (the one that does have a Flat bottom).

The flat bottom is prefered,
for less of a miss-measurement on Lucy's water consumption.
Fortunately the NEW "Stainless Stell Twin Ball Point Sleeve"
(Copied that from the printed text on the bottle),
fits the OLD Flat bottom'd bottle too...

Reason enough to put in some (manual effort):

Cleaning, Lucy's waterbottle.
" Here it is after three minutes of intense shaking... " - HamsterTracker™-Sanitation Dept.

After another 7 minutes (totalling ten!) :

Next time We'll use a bit more of these nut's & bolts, but it DID produce results!

So after a thourough clear water rinse (or three),

Cleaning, Lucy's waterbottle.
" Here it is, fitted with the new 'sleeve' " - HamsterTracker™-Sanitation Dept.

During and after re-installing, Lucy didn't notice a thing
( note her sleeping in her bed-room [on the bottom left] )

Here's Lucy's Cage setup, with the cleaned water bottle.

Having fun with Lucy

This whole ISP-transfer thing is starting to get to me a little...

[ Nothing to report on it today ]

So I took my mind off all problems and issues involved,
simply by having some fun with my hamster Lucy

So when Lucy was runnin' in her treadmill,
I put in my hand, for Lucy to sniff; like saying: "Hello!"
She sniffed, recognized me, then started runnin' again.

I pulled my hand back slowly,
while magically and unnoticably, I droped a new treat for Lucy:

Having fun with my hamster Lucy.
" Dude, what's that GREEN THING? " - Lucy

So I teased Lucy by asking her:
" What GREEN THING are you talking about, Lucy ? " - Mathijs

She responded:

Having fun with my hamster Lucy.
" Here Dude, let me move this ... <grrrrmph-sound>... " - Lucy

After she done this,
I kept my cool...

ISP transfer update: (Lost_Count + 1)

When I came home, Lucy woke up to ask on the ISP-transfer progress:

Updating my hamster Lucy on the ISP transfer, update: (Lost_Count +1).
" Has HamsterTracker.com been (finally) transferred to another ISP? " - Lucy

So I asked Lucy to come out,
to enjoy a snack (or two),
while I explain it all:

Updating my hamster Lucy on the ISP transfer, update: (Lost_Count +1).
" Please tell me... <chompin'sound> ... I wanna know " - Lucy

[ Please note: Lucy's relaxed lean against the cage-wall, while chompin' ]

Ok; the current registrar (who I try to move FROM) has replied today after I submitted
another question about the transfer:

The (to English translated) reply was:
" ... therefore I transferred your request again to the appropriate department"

Please note the use of the word: " again " !
( B.t.w. the department referred to, we have NEVER received a response from )
It's almost like saying: "We resolved your problem, by disposing it in the trashcan!"
We here at HamsterTracker™ just can't believe that this is one month (minus 4 days)
[ July 18th was the first request ], since we started this!

Updating my hamster Lucy on the ISP transfer, update: (Lost_Count +1).
" Stop it Dude, I do SO NOT want to hear that! " - Lucy

After this response, I faxed the paper-transfer,
to my new registrar.
All filled out, together with a foto-copy of my passport!

As I understand, this fax is used by my new registrar,
to send to the " Internet God " !!! ;
which will (hopefully) accept the transfer as legally requested by HamsterTracker.com!
( whether my current registrar cooperates or not. )

Photograph of the HamsterTracker(tm)-Whiteboard.
The floatin' arrow (one of the last few I have),
points to the papers, faxed today!!!
- HamsterTracker™

This process, is presumably going to take 5 days to process,
then the DNS servers are swiched, and HamsterTracker.com
could then take 7 days for the DNS-servers worldwide,
to accept this modification.

So (hopefully) with in two weeks, HamsterTracker.com
is served from another place. (Not that YOU would notice a difference,
maybe slightly during the transfer,
but you will not have to change a bookmark or anything!!!)

How COOL is that?
[ We at HamsterTracker™ try to look out for our HamsterTracker™-Dude(ttes) ! ]

To Be Continued... (hopefully not that long)

Last friday, I got an email of my current registrar stating that the DNS, problems should be resolved (!!!),
and that I could submit a new transfer request from my (soon to be) registrar.

Because that's an automated process, and I already had one running,
I could re-try it again as early as today.

I RE-tried AGAIN TODAY!!!

...

unfortunately it failed (again)

" LET ME GET OUT DUDE!
I AM WANNA EMAIL SOMEONE LIKE NO TOMORROW
" - Lucy

[ Sorry Lucy; NOBODY is allowed to do that! ]

Lucy was impossible to get in focus,
she didn't like the news, and didn't want to sit still.

It took her a while to calm down, when letting her know the following:
[ while passing on the pine-seeds ]

Fortunately I was 'clever/smart/sensible/desparate' enough to send an email to the new registrar, explaining the problem.
They replied immediately with a PDF file to print and fill out.

So after the automated transfer failed again today,
I gave my new registrar a phonecall asking help on that form.

They patiently helped me and I do know what to fill in and how to submit it.
But because I need to use a printer and FAX,
the earliest submit is goin' to be tomorrow! (Hey, what's another day? ;-)

To Be Continued... (hopefully not that long)

Day 42 current treadmill total: 126,178.09 meters! (22:15 CET)

Is there a lawyer in the house?

Ever since starting trackin' my hamster, I've NEVER asked for professional help,
Today I sadly must;

HamsterTracker.com is in serious trouble,
the current host (Registrar) has a so called 'Fair Use Policy' of 10 Gb website traffic a month.
Because this is not sufficient, HamsterTracker generates a lot more per month,
I paid a new provider (quite a lot) to have it hosted there (1000 Gb website traffic is allowed there!)

( Don't be surprised if HamsterTracker.com goes offline, due to the 10 Gb limit! )

So I got the 'transfer key' from my original Registrar,
and I tried to transfer it for the first time more than three weeks ago...

This wasn't successfull, due to improper DNS registration (this is the responsibility of of the current Registrar,
which I sadly have NO control over).

So these last three weeks I've been mailing, asking to, (please,) resolve this.

Unfortunately without success!
I get responses like: 'We are working on it'
and Your request has been transferred to the Technical Department'.

These responses have been without any follow ups!

So I've made an expensive phone call, in an effort to obtain legal advise...

As it seems, according to Dutch Law, this is not handled correctly...

When I told Lucy, she went bezerk... (like me)...

My hamster Lucy annoyed by the current HamsterTracker.com Registrar's service.
" Isn't there a lawyer out there,
that knows about Dutch Consumer-Laws,
as well as ISP problems?
" - Lucy

Funny that Lucy asks, 'cause I am asking myself the same thing.

If you are an expert on Dutch Consumer-Laws AND know a bit about ISP troubles,
AND you're willing on helping keeping HamsterTracker.com online,
(and you don't really charge over the top, [hoping that a little money plus some pine-seeds will suffice...] )

Please feel free to contact me at Peacoque.labs (at) iae. nl!

Thank you!

Day 41 current treadmill total: 123,589.25 meters! (21:00 CET)

Great things come in small packages

Quincy Jr. : Ben Rio
Today I received the most wonderfull email from my favorite 'Freestyle Funk DJ': DJ Quincy Jointz.

I am privileged to have Quincy as one of my foreign friends,

and I am astonished and amused by the work he does with Funk music.

It was a great surprise, back in Thursday, December 8, 2005 when his first child Lucy was born.

Today we got the message of the birth of his son; BEN!

Ofcourse I couldn't wait to tell Lucy

Telling Lucy on the news of the birth of Quincy Jr.
" WOW! I am astonished!
Call him Dude!
" - Lucy

That's what I did:
Not haven spoken to DJ Quincy ever before,
I just dailed the (long distance) number....

After ringing a couple of times,
it got answered!
I was trying to talk in German (which I can do a little bit) and in English,
while my head was thinking in Dutch. (It can be hard being European ;-)

After a few seconds, I AM talking to my favorite DJ!!! you know,
I gathered my thoughts, and had a great conversation, expressing congratulations,
confirmed that Lucy- and Ben's Mom is doing fine and hearing Lucy in the background,
as well as Daddy... He's doing great also.

While talking (2 minutes and 19 seconds) on the phone, Lucy demanded attention:

Telling Lucy on the news of the birth of Quincy Jr.
" Let me talk to him... PLEEEEEEEEEASE ...
I wanna say,
CONGRATULATIONS too!
" - Lucy

HamsterTracker™ shouts to Ben and family!

It's awesome we've spoken on this very special day!
