Still on the Cage-cleaning subject,
I got Lucy's cleaned bedroom (together with all connecting tubes and things), quite quickly hooked up again.
Not surprisingly, Lucy pouched her pouches to the max in the just cleaned livingroom,
before checkin' this fresh smelling bedroom out:

Having fun doin' chores! - part II
We left off yesterday (see below),
while the HamsterTracker™-Cleaning Dept. did their magic on Lucy's livingroom.


After reinstalling the now cleaned livingroom, I attached Lucy's (dirty) bedroom again.
It only took Lucy seconds, to wake up an check her *new* livingroom out.
during that time I tried to switch Lucy's bedroom (with tubing and all):

Having fun doin' (monday?) chores!
Before I went to the daytime office,
I had noticed it...


Cleaning my hamster Lucy's quarters.

The HamsterTracker™-Safety Dept. made me dress up with Safety-Glasses, knee-pads and a Helmet,
to shoot this next photo, standing on a chair,
holding the camera as close to the ceiling as possible,
while trying to grasp on the tiny LCD what I was shooting:

Music Jammin' Friday Evening
It's great fun testing out all new features of the new soundcard,
I can turn the living room into a theater or 'under the shower' like sounds,
with some easy clicks.

Although amusing to play around with,
I am not really sure on the practical use of it.
(but I might get back on that, in the far future)


The quality of the soundcard is amazing,
blasting tha tunes via the Stereo system.

WOOOHOOO! It finally arrived!
Remember day 202, that was the day when my Multi-Media Dream Machine's internal soundcard,
went BAD, corrupting the sound to mere hisses...


After spending many hours uninstalling drivers, rebooting, installing drivers, rebooting, testing ... thinking it over ...
and repeat with other drivers (like 10+ times).


I couldn't resolve it, and I REALLY tried !


I do have guarantee on this motherboard,
but that would mean that Lucy would be offline for at least a week !
This is NOT AN OPTION, - is it not ?


So I finally gave in, and disabled the soundcard via the BIOS;
Making my Dream Machine not so Multi-Media.


Disable the sound card on the motherboard.
" May you rest in silence ! " - HamsterTracker™-Geek Dept.


I then ordered a new soundcard, which is functionally a tat more, than the original soundcard.


Then after a long and silent, eleven day wait

THE SOUNDCARD ARRIVED TODAY !!!

this came out ! WOW ! " - HamsterTracker™-Geek Dept.

Monday stress ? Go to your pet store to unwind!
Today is officially labled 'BAD MONDAY';


After a nice but tough day at the daytime office, ( who hasn't? )

I wanted to do some groceries...


Then having to deal with a car (second car in front of me),
undeciding-ly (and final-ly) figuring out that ONE WAY actually means 'ONE WAY',
thereby, me, missing a green traffic light...


I finally reached the grocery store !


In the grocery store then the 'return bottle machines',
went bezerk on me;
after the first machine 'freaking out' (beeping loud, displaying 'Attention needed')

What an understatement, that machine makes ;-)


I used the second one (on the right),
it also refused !!!

It took a while, before I got helped (pleasantly and efficiently !)

HamsterTracker™-Shouts, to that very nice and helpfull person!


Yes they DO exist in supermarkets !!!

then it hit me:

The ultimate way to relax: PET STORE !


Because I forgot Hamster Food,
(see yesterday (below)) ,
this should work in double ways ( for Lucy and for me :)

Doing groceries for my hamster Lucy.
" Three new products here ! " - Mathijs
  • Sanal Tropical drops - New Flavor,
  • Beaphar® Knabbel Rounds - "Munch Rounds",
  • Beaphar® XtraVital complete food.


I bought this new hamster food,
together with the 'regular' hamster food, I KNOW Lucy likes.

This will be a nice future experiment to come.


I then placed my items on the counter,
( I was fortunate to be the only customer in the shop )


The cash-register had crashed,
phone-calls where made, remote desktop was used,


I didn't mind to start checking out the (roborovski-, they are very VERY tiny) -hamsters !

AND there was one, the cute little one that cought my eye, only 6 weeks old; not bigger than your thumb-TOP ;-)

In SECONDS all technicall issues where resolved !!!

How Relaxingly Cute !
I then had a smooooth drive home, while smiling !

This morning, after waking up [ overly late (11:00 am) ],
I came down to the living room,
only to find Lucy there, wanting my attention.


So I gave Lucy a micro Corn on the Cob,
and started filming:

I can mention that it took Lucy only 10+ seconds to get the corn on the cob in her bedroom!

Lucy 3.0 is pretty smart !

they've got robots processing the intake of books,

Geekin' Seasons holiday project: Fixin' the LCD (final part)
I started to blog about this gem of a project on january 2nd, 2008,
but I didn't finish it....


We left off then, by cutting off the (faulty) LCD-screen connector,
what we didn't show it that the HamsterTracker™-Geek Dept. actually
pulled out the Ol' HamsterTracker™-server,
(Known to acually work with this hardware :)
to simplify testing...

Since then it's been running flaweless !

The controls on the left, control the cursor! (which is currently not displaying, note the 'None')


The extra "m" (top line, on the right) is a software bug, it is not hardware-related,

Which got us to notice:

22+ hour bedroom clean aftermath

Yesterday the HamsterTracker™-Cleaning Dept. did their stuff
on replacing Lucy's bedroom (together with all connecting tubes).


This morning it was pretty much the state after the cleaning was done.


Except for some more hoarded food,
it all looked the same like the initial bedding wrapped in a papernapkin.


Sorry for not taking photographs of this,
but I WAS getting late for work
and then I noticed...

Server update day... :-(
Yesterday, suddenly the sound driver got somehow corrupted,
making a mock of sound on the Dream Machine (HamsterTracker™-Server)


So today I started updating the ASUS-device drivers...

While doin' so, you hope/expect to gain some new cool functionality.


In a way I did,
the screen turned in a wonderfull color of blue together with some crisp clear white characters:


Unfortunate, Dream Machine Error Message, nice blue background with nice white characters !

I tried... Sadly, the HamsterTracker™-Administrators-phone didn't answer... :-(
Windows DID some error-reporting on this error,
but the feedback wasn't too helpfull:

Downloading new drivers, as you read this.

Might this also resolve the webcam problems we've been experiencing ?
(We can currently hook up 3 webcams, instead of our usual 7 !)


Fortunately it hasn't kept Lucy awake:

I didn't really notice that Lucy actually used it,
apart from it being twisted a little.

This little project, I've been wanting to do for quite a while,
fortunately I did find the time to finally do it.


I brushed up my JavaScript knowledge,
and by modifying one small file (!!!) and some clever programming ;-), the statistical pages
now have an easier way of navigation:
